Outline

This EPSRC Industrial CASE 4 year PhD Scholarship is in collaboration with Airbus, and will include a period of training at their research facility in Filton.

The project aims to build a Bayesian inference-based data-driven optimisation framework for robust design and optimisation of aircraft structures under a set of stringent design constraints imposed by considerations of weight penalty, flexibility in flight conditions, flight envelopes and risk minimisation.

Additional funding offered

A stipend enhancement of up to £2400 per annum is

also available. Additional funding would be made available to the

UK Research Council eligibility conditions apply

You should have obtained, or be about to obtain, a First or Upper Second Class UK Honours degree, or the equivalent qualifications gained outside the UK. Applicants with a Lower Second Class degree will be considered if they also have a Master’s degree.
